Rimah Boukarroum

Computer and Communications Engineering student at the Lebanese International University in Beirut.
I build practical systems where networking, software, and embedded technologies meet.

FM Transceiver Application

A desktop application that receives and transmits FM radio signals, with user-configurable parameters for tuning and signal characteristics. Built in Proteus 8 Professional as part of the Analog Communications lab at LIU — it turned a fixed lab bench exercise into something I could actually experiment with, letting me change transmission parameters and observe the effect on the received signal without rewiring hardware each time.

AI Document Assistant

A PDF analysis tool that runs a local model through Ollama to summarize documents and answer questions about their contents. Built with Python, Streamlit for the interface, and PyPDF2 to extract the document text. The problem it solves: searching a long technical PDF with Ctrl+F only finds exact words, and cloud AI tools mean uploading documents you may not want to send anywhere — running the model locally keeps the files on your machine.

Self Defense App

A mobile application built during DOT NGO's mobile app development training program, giving users safety information and guidance. Developed in MIT App Inventor — my first full mobile app, taking me from the interface design through to a working build on a real device.

About Me

I'm Rimah Boukarroum, a Computer and Communications Engineering student based in Beirut, Lebanon. My work sits at the intersection of networking and software development, with a strong interest in signal processing, embedded systems, and communication technologies. I’ve gained hands-on experience with fiber and copper infrastructure during an internship at Ogero Telecom, and I enjoy building tools and applications that solve real engineering problems. I am especially interested in projects that connect hardware, data, and user experience in practical ways.

Software Development

Building practical tools and user-facing applications with clean logic and real-world usefulness.

Networking

Exploring reliable communication systems, infrastructure, and data flow.

Embedded & Hardware

Working on systems close to physical components where software meets signal and control.

Web & Interfaces

Designing responsive digital experiences and tools that make technical work clearer and easier to use.

Communication Systems

Interested in the infrastructure and signal paths that keep data moving reliably.

Growth

I’m driven by continuous learning and the opportunity to contribute in dynamic engineering environments.

Get in touch

I’m open to internships, collaboration, and engineering opportunities where I can contribute to meaningful technical work.
